Paediatric First Aid
The Statuatory framework for the Early Years Foundation stage is a document published by The Department for Children, Schools, and families and applies to Early years Childcare within England, Wales & Northern Ireland.The Statutory Framework states that " at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises at all times when children are present.There must be at least one person on outings who has a current Paediatric First Aid certificate." This fully regulated TQUK L3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) Is the qualification recognised to fulfill that need.
This accredited qualification provides theoretical and practical training in First Aid techniques that are specific to infants aged 0 to 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the onset of puberty. Learners will become familiar with the role of the paediatric first aider and be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation, such as a child or an infant who is unresponsive, has an airway obstruction or is suffering from shock.:
Topics also included are wounds, fractures, dislocations, injuries to the head, neck, back, eyes, ears or nose, poisoning, bites or stings and electric shock.
This qualification consists of two units and is provided over a period of 2 days with a minimum contact time of 6 hours per unit.

TQUK L3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid at Work
This fully regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency paediatric first aid situations which could arise when looking after children.
This is a one day classroom course only ( or we can travel to you onsite)
The TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for:
Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.
Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.
This one day course is not available as a blended option to ensure our compliance with HSE Guidance& strict Quality Standards. All tutors also hold a current PVG certificate
